The study of linguistics applied to the teaching of English as a second language or foreign language. This subject seeks to apply the concepts of linguistics in a practical way to the problems of the classroom, thus providing students with a preparation to be able to teach the language with a clear idea of the methodologies and goals that will lead to greater effectiveness in the classroom
