DESCRIPTION

This class is conceived as a general introduction to the history of Central Europe. The aim of the course is to achieve an understanding of the history of the different national and cultural entities that now constitute the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and also Germany and a comprehension of their complex interaction. It will replace the evolution of the various political entities in the context of European history and will give the students the instruments for understanding their position in today?s world.
