A mixed experience of health, environment and a wonderful opportunity to get an up-close view of one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Busot, located in the Alicante province of Spain. CEA students take this journey, along with other travelers, to visit the Cabeço d’Or mountain and Cuevas de Canelobre.
 CEA Alicante

The excursion began near the Canelobre caves called Plá de la Gralla then passed by Racó de Seva where our guys and gals had to walk up a steep cliff to reach Collado de Polset. After climbing the steep cliff, we were rewarded with incredible views of the Alicante coast.

The CEA included excursion did not end there and we carried on with the trip to the top of Cabeço d’Or. The top of the mountain stands 1.210 meters high (3969 feet) and it overlooks the Serra D’Aitana Mountains (where there was still snow from the storm that hit the Spanish Mediterranean coast two weeks ago) as well as cities like Benidorm, Elche and VillaJoyosa among others.

 Tough climb, but very rewarding

Next, we descended from the top of Cabeço d’Or where we passed by Collado de Polset, and went down the east side of the mountain where we could appreciate views of Alicante’s bay. Before visiting Canelobre caves, we had to climb a seepingly endless steep hill. In any case, our brave students made it faster than expected and completed the itinerary in an hour earlier than originally planned.
 Exploring the beauty of Spain

Once at the caves, we appreciated the orographic beauty formed over the years in stalactites, stalagmites and minerals before ending our trip.
