One of the common worries that people have about London is how expensive it is. While it is an expensive city, there are also plenty of fun things to do around the city for free when you study abroad in London!

One of the coolest things to do in London is to visit museums. If you want to see life-size replicas of dinosaurs, feel like you are on the moon, and learn about a lot of animals, visit the Natural History Museum. Additionally, if you would like to experience various decades through the lens of fine art, stop by Tate Britain. Finally, the best way to learn about the history of the entire city, from prehistoric times to the future, is to visit the Museum of London. Visiting these museums is a great way to learn a lot, have fun, and kill lots of time. The best part is, visiting museums in London is completely free!

Free Tickets

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a live audience member of your favorite television show? You could attend a live taping of "The Voice UK," "The Great British Bake Off" and more by entering a raffle here. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get the chance to meet your favorite celebrity judge, for free.

Tours

Trying to explore a new city like London may seem daunting at first. To make sure you see all of the sites, consider taking a free walking tour. Strawberry Tours offers everything from classic sightseeing tours through different neighborhoods, to a spectacular spooky Jack the Ripper Tour.

Learn and Develop Your Skills

If you’re studying abroad in London, there's plenty to learn outside of the classroom. To learn more about business, the London School of Business and Economics has a wide array of guest lectures for free. Check them out here.

Weather you’re visiting London on vacation, or are spending an entire semester studying in this amazing city, there are plenty of exciting things you can do for free during your free time.
