About the Program

Program Description

Build marketable skills while gaining résumé-boosting experience in a city that’s home to thousands of international companies. The Internship in Dublin program allows you to develop practical skills in fields such as marketing, management, finance, hospitality, and more. Summer students can choose either a full-time or a part time-internship. Our strong academic focus and personalized placements dedicated to meaningful experiences, allow you to give your career a boost while gaining the international experience you’ve been seeking. Learn more about the benefits of a CEA internship.

Program Structure

CEA’s summer internship program includes an academic seminar and an internship placement. Your internship work schedule may vary depending on industry standards for your career field and will be determined after you arrive.

The part-time internship option includes a weekly seminar that meets for 22 contact hours and  120 hours at your internship placement over 8 weeks. Together, your seminar and internship placement are worth 3 credits.

The full-time internship option includes a 32-hour academic component and 240 hours at your internship placement over 8 weeks. The academic component is comprised of a weekly seminar and career development portfolio project. Together, the academic component and internship placement are worth 6 credits.

Prior to submitting your application, you will select the internship option that works best for you. We strongly recommended that you apply as soon as possible. Internship positions are selective; students who demonstrate both professionalism and commitment throughout the process are most successful in securing placements.

The placement process involves three Skype or phone interviews: a screening interview with your internship specialist, a job placement interview with your on-site internship coordinator, and a final interview with your host site supervisor. The host site retains the final decision regarding placements, so it’s important that your interviews reflect your maturity, adaptability, curiosity, and commitment to both your career interests and the host organization. Upon successfully completing your on-site placement coordinator interview, CEA guarantees you a placement based on the personal, professional, and cross-cultural goals reflected in your interview. All placements will be secured two weeks prior to arrival.

Upon placement, you'll automatically be enrolled in your internship course.

If you have confirmed an internship placement in Dublin through independent contacts, we can also support you in securing important logistics such as visas, housing, and credit. Contact an admissions counselor for more details.
