This course provides students with the key knowledge, skills and attitudes required to gain maximum benefit from academic studies thereby enabling them to 'hit the ground running' from the first day of their undergraduate course. The step from secondary education to university is significant. Not only do students have to cope with the academic challenges of higher education, but also they may be living away from home, removed from familiar support networks. This course provides students with practical advice to help them not only maximise their own academic skills but also develop strategies to manage and thrive in a new environment.
