JRN 226 Changing Media: The West and Beyond Full Curriculum Program Fall 2016 Semester - Prague

Over the last two decades, shifts in media technologies, corporate structure and the organization of public life have combined to transform the practice of journalism. The whole process has accelerated during and after the recent economic crisis. Now, we live in an interesting intermezzo, since the print has not died yet while the thriving online does not generate enough money. Let us explore this era: the changes in our news consumption habits, the economic impacts causing major shifts in the news channels, the future of the journalistic profession and the mainstream as well as the against-the-mainstream solutions.
