Theory and History of Propaganda Communication, Media Studies & Tourism Management Program Fall 2016 Semester - Seville

Although the term has been popularized from the twentieth century, Propaganda history dates back to the earliest forms of society, especially after the First World War. In recent years, the Internet has become a tool in the service of ideology and propaganda spread by its ability to instant message. We are witnessing the emergence of different platforms and social networks that make possible the issuance of ideological content in real time. The study of the history of propaganda is therefore, a prerequisite for all the professionals dedicated to the analysis and creation of messages for a mass audience. In particular, this course provides students with all the necessary background for further studies on Political Communication area that requires increasingly specialized staff in the study of this discipline.
